Description: Qualifications: Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
College background with related courses or degree preferred.
Must have at least one year of experience working with people with developmental disabilities.
Must possess a valid NJ driver’s license with a good driving record.
Upon employment, must pass mandatory Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) trainings and maintain current certification in First Aid and CPR.
Job Purpose: Develop and enhance independent living skills and address employment needs of workers with developmental disabilities.
Hours: Monday - Friday; 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM.
This position is full-time; working 30 hours a week.
Employee will be eligible for benefits.
Requirements: Essential Functions for Supportive Employment Identifies individual needs of workers relating to employment, including physical, social, and personal strengths as well as potential barriers to employment.
Accesses and supervises workers at established job sampling sites.
Develops employment opportunities and jobs for workers.
Initiates contacts, tracks and implements, completes follow-up calls.
Analyzes employer needs and specific requirements of job sites.
Assists workers in the job application process.
Plans and implements activities of the Employment Orientation service, which includes job search procedure, interviewing skills, travel training, tour of business site and community resource training.
Analyzes work environment and specific job tasks and adapts to individual worker.
Matches worker’s skills, interests, and abilities to specific employment opportunities.
Makes necessary job accommodations and adaptations to assist workers in job adjustments.
Trains workers to perform job tasks to meet quality and production requirements of employer.
Develops and utilizes workplace analysis, task analysis and progress case notes to document progress.
Conducts employment presentations on the Employment Services of Our House Inc.
, as assigned.
Designs and implements a schedule for making follow-up visits to job sites to monitor employee performance and determine retraining and counseling needs.
Provides regular updates on worker’s progress to residential staff, case managers/support coordinators, family/guardians and former day program staff.
Plans and runs Workers Club meetings with the assistance of workers as assigned.
Serves as an advocate and assists workers in securing Social Security benefits and employer provided benefits, etc.
Develops and establishes goals for the Individualized Habilitation Plan (IHP), Individualized Placement Plan (IPP) or Individualized Service Plan (ISP) in conjunction with the Interdisciplinary Team.
Attends all IHP/IPP/ISP meetings.
Transports individuals and groups of workers to job sites in agency or personal vehicle.
Maintains safety, security, and cleanliness of agency vehicle.
Completes monthly vehicle inspection reports.
Manages transportation funds.
Obtains receipts and maintain records.
Maintains and regularly updates Support Service records and individual worker files Attends and participates in Support Service staff meetings Cooperates fully with Our House Inc.
, State of New Jersey Department of Human Services, and the Division of Developmental Disabilities staff in any inspection or investigation.
Secondary Functions: Attends and participates in All Agency and Department/Program Staff Meetings.
Assists with agency fund raising activities.
Serves on agency committees as required.
Other duties as assigned.

Maintain Confidentiality: The employee maintains confidentiality of residents, workers, personnel, vendors, and other classified agency information.
Travel Requirements Travel required, approximately 75%.
Americans with Disabilities Act Requirements: Environment Demands and Exposures to Hazards: Normal work routine involves potential exposure to blood, tissues, body fluid, air/surface borne infections and chemicals.
Must be familiar with Our House Inc.
’s ”Blood borne Pathogens Exposure Control Plan”.
Must also attend agency’s annual training which provides information in said policy.
Essential Physical/Mental Demands: Shall not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the community residence or the OHI Administrative Offices.
Must be able to physically demonstrate how to perform various tasks to staff to ensure that they are properly trained.
Physical Demands: Must be ambulatory Must have visual/hearing acuity Must possess dexterity to lift and carry 50 lbs.

Mental Demands: Must have verbal ability Must be able to comprehend instructions Must be able to write and type legibly Must be able to comprehend/interpret charts, diagrams, possess inductive and deductive reasoning Manual Dexterity Required: Must possess manual dexterity to stand, sit, and walk.
