About You: We are currently recruiting a Statutory Accounting Manager, who will work in a fast-paced cross-functional capacity to oversee the Company's regulatory accounting function for its three insurance carriers.
You will work closely with the Company's Accounting, Finance, Legal and Compliance teams and be exposed to all facets of an insurance company's operations.
You are self-motivated; ability to collaborate is a must, but you will be autonomous and expected to succeed without heavy direction You have a strong intellectual curiosity and a desire to help others solve problems.
You are not here to simply do what was done before, but constantly challenge current processes and implement new best practices You are flexible and willing to do what is needed to get great work done And you have a natural inclination to work within a culture that maintains exceedingly high standards, in a fast-paced and dynamic environment What You'll Do: Work collaboratively with cross functional departments to improve statutory reporting and financial compliance processes Responsible for the timely and accurate filing of quarterly, annual, and supplemental financial filings for multiple carriers with the NAIC and 51 regulating jurisdictions Oversee team in the Statutory financial statement close process in accordance with the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close calendar for multiple subsidiaries Assist in the completion of financial audits and examinations with external auditors and regulators, including interim reviews Manage regulatory reporting team including their daily workload, development, and all administrative matters Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual premium tax filings Review quarterly and annual statutory notes and schedules (e.

, General Interrogatories, Schedule Y, Schedule T, Schedule F, Schedule P, etc.
) Review and analyze NAIC instructions and blanks for updates and modify processes to comply with reporting changes Review and perform testing on internal controls for Model Audit Rule Compliance Assist in the completion of surveys and data calls from rating agencies and regulators Assist on special projects and other duties as assigned by management Document policies, processes, and standard operating procedures Identify and rollout best practices to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the statutory reporting and compliance function Must Haves: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance 4+ years in the insurance industry or similar 4+ years in accounting and compliance roles Knowledge of US Statutory & US GAAP accounting principles Experience with US Statutory reporting schedules (e.
g.
, Schedule F, Schedule P, etc.
