SUMMARY The Puerto Rican Action Board (PRAB) is a comprehensive human services organization in Middlesex County, New Jersey.
We provide a comprehensive range of essential services for children, youth, families, and senior citizens.
We deliver need-based assistance to low and moderate-income residents of Central New Jersey and serve as advocates for those seeking to live productive, self-sufficient lives.
Energy Auditors evaluate the energy efficiency, health and safety of a home, and use diagnostics equipment to identify areas for energy savings.
Verify compliance of retrofit work performed based on work plans and standards.
Develop reports that specify corrective actions to achieve optimal whole house performance.
The Weatherization Assistance Program reduces energy costs for low–income households by increasing the energy efficiency of their homes, while ensuring health and safety.
RESPONSIBILITIES General Functions Perform Residential Energy Audits (test in/test out) in accordance with WAP standards Analyze energy bills and the results of the energy audit using computer software (NEAT, MHEA or EA-QUIP) Prepare a written report of audit findings, including retrofit recommendations; identify health and safety issues Prepare detailed work scopes and comprehensive work orders, pricing, measures, and quantities for proposed retrofit work Coordinate service delivery with the Weatherization Supervisor and weatherization crews Adhere to strict policies related to appointment promptness, in-home conduct, and appearance Effectively and professionally communicates with clients throughout the process Perform client interviews and educate clients about energy conservation, evaluate weatherization and heating system needs using standard methods (blower door, IR camera, etc.
) Perform select retrofit measures such as air sealing of the building shell and ductwork, weather-stripping, and installation of energy-efficient lighting Perform quality checks after products are installed Maintain program records and other program-related administrative duties according to established standards (State Weatherization Energy Manual and DOE protocol) Completes all necessary paperwork required for internal reporting though HESWAP database Comply with company safety policies and procedures Performs final inspections utilizing Quality Control procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned General Participate actively and represent PRAB in community life within Central New Jersey, including community events, neighborhood and community groups, advocacy efforts, policy-oriented forums, PRAB partnerships and collaborations, government agencies, and private institutions Conduct, attend, and participate in internal meetings to maintain and improve professional competence Work diplomatically to solve problems within the organization Maintain professional appearance and behavior Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual progress reports (both internal and external) Demonstrates consistent and reliable attendance and punctuality Perform other duties as assigned by the Weatherization Manager QUALIFICATIONS Quality Control Inspector BPI certification required BPI Envelop Professional and Building Analyst preferred Associates degree in Energy Science or related field preferred At least four (2) years’ experience in Energy Auditing preferred Bilingual: English/Spanish preferred Valid NJ Driver’s License with reliable vehicle.
