The Legal Department seeks a *VP, Associate General Counsel, Head of Contracts* to lead the contracts management lifecycle at Sompo International.
The Contracts Manager will take a leadership role in improving the existing contracting process through the development and improvement of policies, procedures, and identification of technology solutions.
This individual will streamline existing processes, identify cost saving measures, develop and monitor metrics.
The Contracts Manager will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, negotiating, execute a wide variety of agreements, and manage the process flow of agreements to support business needs.
The Contracts Manager will also oversee the day-to-day work of the Contracts team, manage new and existing agreements, and perform administrative tasks associated with Sompo International’s contract management system.
*This role is eligible to be performed in any of Sompo International’s US offices.
* *DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES* * Works collaboratively with Legal Department leadership and key internal stakeholders to identify process and technology improvements to streamline and enhance the holistic contracting process at Sompo International.
* Functions as the primary contact and manager for Sompo International’s existing contracting and negotiation process to support both business and resourcing needs.
* Develops and maintains collaborative working relationships with internal clients and stakeholders to fully implement and maintain Sompo International’s contracting processes and governance.
* Drafts, analyzes, reviews, and negotiates agreements, including, but not limited to Master Services Agreements, Master Agency Agreements, Resource Agreements, Statements of Work, Lease Agreements, Data Processing Addendum, and Confidentiality Agreements.
* Manage and supervise Contracts Team staff.
Delegate and supervise the negotiation of agreements as well as administrative tasks associated with the contracting process (e.
g.
, data entry, reporting and tracking of key metrics, vendor management, etc.
).
* Exhibit leadership with respect to managing Sompo International’s holistic contracting process, as well as providing guidance, mentorship, development, and training to Contracts Team staff.
*MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS* * JD degree with current bar admission required * Minimum 8 years of contract management experience; global contracting experienced preferred but not required.
* Experience identifying and implementing process and technology improvements into holistic contracting lifecycle.
* A high-level of intellectual, professional, and interpersonal agility and flexibility, combined with strong communication and management skills.
* Ability to evaluate and assess the impact of any decision or course of action.
* Team oriented, able to work collaboratively and effectively with business clients and other legal department members, as well as being a self-starter comfortable working independently.
*Salary Range: $165,000 - $250,000 *Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including the cost of living associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience.
