Position Summary Provides assistance and protection to persons and property at Hunterdon Healthcare.
Ensures Medical Center regulations and procedures are followed and takes appropriate action to ensure the safety of all.
Primary Position Responsibilities 1.
Patrol - Conduct security and safety patrols of the hospital, both internal and external, to enforce all hospital-wide and department-specific security and safety policies.
2.
Respond to Emergencies – Respond to all security and emergency situations as dispatched or assigned and initiate appropriate actions during; fire alarm activations, workplace violence situations, medical emergencies, and all other emergency situations.
3.
Documentation - Complete and submit all required security reports and daily activity reports.
4.
Customer Service - Greets and assists all persons interacting in the hospital in a courteous and helpful manner.
5.
Controls patient, visitor, staff, and vendor entry to the facility utilizing the appropriate visitor and vendor software.
Work Contact Group (Internal/External) Reporting Relationships Reports to (position): Administrative Director of Safety and Security, Security Supervisor Indirect: Security Lead Officer Supervises (position(s): None Qualifications Minimum Education: Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation): Required: 3 Year Experience in Security, Law Enforcement, or related field Preferred: None License, Registry or Certification: Required: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and a minimum of three (3) years of driving experience.
Within 60 Days of Employment all officers must complete the IAHSS Basic Officer Certification Program Within 90 Days of Employment all officers must be certified in First Aid, CPI Crisis Intervention, Violent Patient Management, LERC Report Writing Program, and RIPP Restraint Training.
Preferred: CPR/AED Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities: Required: None Preferred: Excellent communication skills and the ability to defuse hostile situations.
